DESCRIPTION:
Client is an oilfield services production equipment fabricator doing business in the NAFTA region and internationally, with revenues in excess of $100MM.  Well connected and funded with a highly proactive and succeeding executive management team focused on strategic business development and growth.

The Sr. Estimator will function as a technical specialist formulating and developing estimating concepts. Perform in-depth analysis of cost reports to include forecast analysis and variance explanations. Be involved in creating project budgets and implement standard procedures for accurate budget reflection. Estimate equipment, piping and infrastructure costs for potential company facilities worldwide. Develop baseline costs to reference for future projects as well as provide indexing and capture current to expected exchange rates. Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments or facilities construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors. Confer with engineers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. Implement cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hourly and related cost data or to effect cost reduction. Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.

REQUIREMENTS:
Prefer Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (any engineering or construction management would be good examples) related to fabrication and design of production equipment and associated facilities, or 5-10 years of progressive experience in estimating and project administration for the Oil & Gas industry. Requires skills in cost control techniques; variance analysis; and budget development.
