Job Title: Commissioning Specialist Telecommunications
MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Defining and accepting mechanical Completion from the Sub-Contractor and
Suppliers.
Further, planning executing and supervising
the commissioning to final handover / acceptance. Ensuring the processes required
delivering a safe, efficient, complete and cost effective completion.
Must have recognized training with appropriate experience in Telecommunication
equipment is a requirement. A member of the Mechanical
Completion Testing and Commissioning team (MCT&C) providing input into
construction working methods. Establishing and maintaining system
/ sub-system priorities ensuring co-ordination between the various Mechanical
completion teams.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Write all the commissioning procedures for the Telecommunication
commissioning activities and get these approved.
Assist in the establishment of a commissioning plan for the discipline
and ensure integration into the Project execution plan.
Determine and prepare Commissioning procedures to perform and control
the activities.
Enable the safe and efficient handover from Mechanical Completion to
Testing and Commissioning with Operations.
Establish satisfactory input for the discipline into the MCT&C database
control system.
Review and define the testing and commissioning scope, planning and
man-hour estimates required to complete the scope of work.
Monitor and on acceptance execute outstanding punch list items.
Carry out all the commissioning activities for I&C discipline by
directing the efforts of the technicians and complete the Commissioning check
sheets and populate the System Completion database that is used on the project.
Requirements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS,
AND EXPERIENCE
An engineering degree with 10-12 years
direct “hands on” experience in operations/Maintenance/Construction
and / or systems completion Telecommunications equipment.

Must possess Database experience (Access and
SQL) knowledge of computerized automated Data Management Systems Experience in
Procedure Writing and Project Planning.
Experience on Oil and Gas projects of a
similar nature, knowledge of Off-Shore and production systems and offshore work
experience is mandatory. Must also possess an ability
to work in harsh and inclement conditions.
