Description
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer interested in
becoming part of the Asset Services Operations discipline staff. Asset
Services Operations provides local multi-discipline engineering services to the
power, hydrocarbons and metals & minerals industries. This individual will
be based out of the
General activities include:
Performing electrical raceway designs
Sizing and selection of electrical
equipment, low voltage and medium voltage design,
Design of lighting, lightning, and
grounding, including plan drawings, installation details and fixture schedule.
Sizing conduit, wires, and motors, etc.
One line diagrams and electrical load lists
Cable tray plans, elevations and
installation details.
Electrical plan drawings and installation
details
Electrical area classification plan drawings
and report.
Underground electrical drawings and
installation details including conduit duct bank and grounding grid.
Fire and gas detection performance
specification.
Electrical heat trace isometrics, control
panel layout, heat trace schematic and wiring diagrams, location plan drawings
and heat trace calculations.
Motor control schematic/wiring diagrams.
Control logic for VFD motors outlined in the
controls narrative for programming.
Creating electrical cable schedules.
Lighting and distribution panel-board
schedules and field junction box drawings.
Equipment electrical specifications/data
sheets for equipment such as medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage motor
control center, low voltage switchgear, low voltage motor control center, VFDs, UPS systems, DC battery systems, low voltage
distribution transformers and panel-boards.
Electrical studies utilizing ETAP electrical
system modeling software. The studies would include load flow study, short
circuit study, coordination study, arc flash study and harmonic analysis study.
Construction specifications to accompany electrical
work packages.
Field experience and the ability to perform
field work in support of the electrical design is a plus.
Ability to perform electrical design for all
phases of a project, including the development of legible field sketches.
Capability to review manufacture's or
fabricator's prints for conformance to contract documentation and design
intent.
Work collaboratively and effectively with
other designers and engineers in support of projects.
Communicate effectively across the various
Asset Services offices as well as the company offices.
Requirements
BS or MS in related field or applicable
discipline, typically an engineering degree; or equivalent experience if
allowed by law. Thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted
procedures. Generally 4-7 years of experience in field with BS, or 3-5
years of experience in field with MS; relevant professional registration is
preferred.
Refinery, hydrocarbons, oil and gas and or heavy industry experience
required.
Recognized as having a specialized depth or
breadth of expertise within the department. Interprets internal and external business
challenges with impact on the organization and recommends best practice
solutions. Contributes to implementation plan development and
program coordination. Proficient with engineering software applications;
Computer proficiency required; Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail important. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities somewhat important.
Ability to contribute to preparation and delivery of presentations to customers
is preferred; Awareness of project estimates and budgets. Strong written and
verbal communication skills in English are essential to effectively teach what
they know to other employees. Ability to transfer subject matter expertise and
understanding to other employees and/or internal customers is required
regarding why work is performed the way it is and how it impacts the broader
organization. Commitment to customer service and ability to lead functional
project teams is important. Ability to maintain confidential information is
critical. Generally characterized as a "Senior
Contributor" with ability to lead functional project teams within a
business unit or department. Very rarely requires supervision and
direction beyond providing desired outcomes. Typically will
regularly interface with departmental staff and middle and upper management,
and frequently with outside customers.
